January 17, 2010

Today we went to a christening for little Kyla. My mom is holding Kyla and Johnny is holding another cousin, Logan. Evan, Logan's twin, was somewhere else when we took this shot. 3

Didn't have a lot of options. So I took a picture of Cranberry playing with her new toy from my aunt.

This was a picture of my lunch on Friday. One of the other teachers in my building wanted to know what the Smokehouse Chicken sandwich looked like and told me to text her a picture, so I did. Each Friday many of us order out. Lately we've been ordering and getting yummy food from a little restaurant called Creekside.

So I decided to get a little adventurous on Thursday night. I took these pictures of the candle in one of our kitchen windows. I like how you can see the filaments in the reflection of the bottom two images. It was fun to play with the different settings.

This is Cranberry after her new haircut. She looks like a totally different dog. She feels like one too, she is nice and soft. I think she feels better too because she is sure full of "piss and vinegar" since she had it done. The owner at Sascha's has taken a liking to her as well. She wasn't in the front window when they went to pick her up, she was in the back in his arms!!!

January 12, 2010

This is little Cranberry on the eve before her first grooming, well first grooming with us at our groomers. They told me she was groomed the week before we got her, but I highly doubt that. We are all very excited to see what she will look like afterward and what size her feet really are. Right now it seems like she has these giant paws, but when you feel them they are really tiny. Needless to say, she should look a lot prettier than she is now.

This weeks challenge was to take pictures that could be used in classrooms. What better image to take than something we all probably have in the day and age of H1N1, hand sanitizer, or hand santatizer like one of my darlings says. Feel free to use if you need it. I'll be uploading some of my other pictures to flickr at some point to share there as well.

This is my baby, Barkley. We got him from a breeder about 2.5 years ago. He is a bichon shih tzu mix, sometimes called a shichon. He is quite the lover and as you can see, he's starting to look like a little sheep dog. Tomorrow he goes to get his grooming. I'm sure there will be many more pictures of him and our new addition, Cranberry throughout the coming 355 days!!!

This is how I spent my Saturday. I took this picture when we had started the finals of the 2010 Schuylkill County Junior High League Wrestling Tournament. I was sitting at the head table behind a laptop entering all of the results. This was the first time that I can say the tournament went truly smoothly. I only entered one result incorrectly as well!!!

This day we had a two hour delay. Too bad that we probably should have went in on time and went home early. The snow showers that were supposed to stop in the afternoon continued on all day and instead of 1 inch, we ended up with over 5! I took this picture around 8 or 9 before we went upstairs.

The story of the shoes...

For those of you who read my plurk, here are the shoes that my student is forced to wear. The story could continue, but I will be professional and not discuss what other information I have since found out. It makes me sick...completely and utterly ill.

My babies!!! My two little darlings were laying next to each other on the couch before I left for the match. Barkley is on the right and our new addition, Cranberry, is on the left. You can see her one eye doesn't reflect like the other. She has an ulcer that is healing. She was a puppy mill dog for the first three years of her life and we are thrilled to have given her a new home and a new life.

January 5, 2010

Well, tonight I went to get my hair cut and colored. I love what she did to the sides, but my mom brought up a good point that there seems to be color missing from the bottom. What do you all think???

January 4, 2010

This is a view of my classroom from my doorway. The work table at the center of the room is relatively clean as is my area by my computer. Give me a few days and it won't look like that anymore. You'll see the piles that are always laying around, but I know exactly what is where when I need it unless someone tries to help me ;)

January 3, 2010

Changes was one of the topics for this week/month. I chose this picture because my mom and our new family addition, Cranberry, are still adjusting to each other. We adopted Cranberry about three weeks ago. She was rescued from a puppy mill, where she had spent the first three years of her life. She LOVES my father, but is not so sure about my mom. You can see my mom trying hard to make friends and Cranberry just not so sure. Hopefully in a few weeks, I will be able to post a picture of the two of them as wonderful friends!

January 2, 2010

Okay, so this isn't a photo I took on this day, but it is a picture that I colorsplashed. My dear friend had this application on her iPhone and I finally downloaded and played with it. I think this was a pretty good first attempt! This is the guitar outside of the Hard Rock Cafe in Los Angeles, CA. I was there this summer during my first doctoral residency.

January 1, 2010 - My resolution of sorts

One of the suggestions was to take an image about a resolution for 2010. These are my friends, Brandi and Jason, who took me with their family on vacation to the Outer Banks over the 2009 Holidays. I am finally back to a point in my life where I feel good and am looking forward to possibly finding a special someone of my own. (So if you know any single 30 something guys looking for a special ed teacher/techie dork...let me know!!!)

The "mad scientists" are hard at work creating creepy, crawling critters in their special laboratory at the beach. This picture was taken our last night at the beach. Jacob got this gift and was showing his little sister Eliza how it works.
